Bathroom design inspiration
Due to its soft cream shades, travertine has gained a lot of popularity. It has the ability of inducing a relaxing state which reminds us of nature's warm and gentle side. You can choose polished, honed (cross cut or vein cut) or honed and chiselled tiles for the walls, which come in different sizes. A special design idea is using decorative travertine stones to pump up the texture of your space. You can see some examples in photos 3 and 4. The diversity of this stone is vast and with a bit of imagination you can successfully use them to break the chromatic monotony of a room and give it a certain dynamic. As you can see, the bathtub can also be cladded with travertine which can substantially amplify a sense of relaxation and send you in an imaginative vacation to the Mediterranean, even.

Using stone panels in the bathroom
For those that make unconventional choices, the range of decorative stones is a good option. Brown slate panels, for instance (photo 4), are a perfect match for the travertine tiles of the floor, while also acting as a rustic background for the sanitary appliances. At the same time, the metal grate is not over the top because of the colour mix of the slate accent wall. In photo 5 you can see slate panels (Rusty Black), but the result is totally different. Here, we can see a well thought out minimalist project, that required a small budget. In both examples (photos 4 and 5) the white of the ceiling plays an important role in highlighting the beauty of the natural stone wall.

SKIN flexible slate veneer bathroom
A bathroom's design can also be inspired by fall's rusty palette which is appreciated by many. Slate and, in this case, flexible slate come in a wide range of colours, many of which are reminiscent of the shades of falling leafs. Because of its flexibility, waterproof qualities, heat resistance and acidic tolerance, SKIN can be used to coat walls, ceilings and even bathroom furniture.

And because natural stone goes best with, you guessed it, natural stone, we recommend travertine, marble or onyx sinks which can have a modern or rustic design and come in many different shades. If properly cared for and constantly sealed, the beauty of natural stone sinks wiil never be outshone by traditional ceramic ones.
