Why do houses look so good when natural stone is involved?
Home interiors look better when designed with natural stone
Natural stone is, first of all, about durability. If sealed and cared for properly, stone products can last for more than a hundred years. There are a lot of examples in the world and we’re not only talking about historic buildings that have lasted for hundreds or even thousands of years. We’re also talking about large public buildings constructed in the previous century that are still functional today. You can read about some examples here. In other words, natural stone is a valuable investment because it carries a message through generations. This material is, in a way, a legacy. You change the drapes, the couch, the fridge, beds, doors, cars and boats, but natural stone never goes out of style.

Aside from its durability, natural stone is also very diverse. Each piece is unique. This chromatic diversity provides the space with great energy and a dynamic appearance. That is why natural stone can take different roles in different design styles, from classic, baroque or rustic to high-tech or Mediterranean. This is the case of a long line of products such as Padang Yellow, Rosa Porrino or Fantastic Juparana granites, Yellow and Silver travertine, Violet Calacatta or Nero Marquina marble and decorative panels like Polygonal Rock Face Pepem Marble.

The chromatic potential of natural stone is huge. Some products are extremely colorful, while others are quite simple, such as Thassos , Burdur Beige, White Pearl marble, Verde, Rosie or Nero slates. These types of stone can work as a neutral base for more vivid combinations, like in the case of eclectic or shabby chic projects, or they can be used as the background on which decorative borders are applied.

The versatility of natural stone can also be seen in its veiny patterns. These textures amplify the spectacle of color in rocks such as travertine or marble. Some good examples are Silver Peach Cross Cut travertine, Cleopatra and Nero Marquina marble or Noisestte Natur Multicolored slate. The raw texture of decorative panels can be easily paired with tumbled or honed tiles, while wood is always a good idea for the mix. Natural stone is probably the only material whose imperfections make it even more valuable and expressive. When we say imperfections, we refer to changes in the monotony of colors (like in the cases of ceramic tiles) and uneven, rough surfaces. The charm of natural stone is created by all these surprises and unique structural irregularities which are so appreciated in both residential and public projects.
