Benefits of surface sealing
1. Extends the lifetime of natural stone
2. Creating a barrier against external agents – water, grease, oil, acid solutions, rugina.
3. Facilitate daily aftercare and cleaning of natural stone
4. Maintains original color, texture and beauty of natural stone
The first step was to choose your favorite natural stone – a unique material in terms of beauty. A second step is waterproofing. This is very important for us because we want to maintain the original look of your natural stone, even after 10-20 years from installation.
What is waterproofing?
Waterproofing is a necessary procedure – a treatment for natural stone – for durable cladding for protecting natural stone against daily water droplets, dust and difficult stains. The micropores of the stone will close – like a sealing – forming a barrier against external agents that might damage the surface.
Waterproofing solutions have 2 categories:
Impregnators - seal the pores fully and provide protection against water, dust and dirt generating noncorrosive stains.
Sealants - seal the pores over the surface of natural stone and are effective against dust and water and less against stains.
The LTP Mattstone H20 is a phenomenally powerful and safe sealant (doesn't alter the appearance of the treated surface), based on water. Protects against stains, repels water, oil and grease. Allows the treated surface to breathe.
The benefits of LTP MATTSTONE H20
1. Strong protection using the latest water based technology
2. Perfect for confined spaces (HORECA)
3. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor works
4. Easy to apply and a pleasant smell
Directions for use:
Preparations: Ensure surface to be treated is completely clean, dry and free from dirt, grime, cement and grout. If necessary, first wash surfaces with a dilute solution of LTP Grimex 1:10 and white pad. Rinse well to remove residues and leave to dry (24hrs).
Rough cut, tumbled, textured or riven surfaces:
Shake bottle before use. Apply generously and evenly using a paint brush or sponge. On highly absorbent surfaces apply several coats wet-in-wet. After 15 minutes, remove any excess sealer with an absorbent cloth. Do not allow residues to dry on the surface.
Honed, smooth and polished surfaces:
Shake bottle before use. Apply generously and evenly using a lint free cloth, lamb’s wool applicator, paint pad or sponge. Ensure even distribution by wiping over several times. After 15 minutes, remove any excess sealer with an absorbent cloth. Polished surfaces should be finished after removal of excess by buffing with a soft lint free cloth or machine with buffing pad. This should be done while the sealer is still wet on the surface. Do not allow residues to dry on the surface.
Coverage depending on the treated surface:
Low porosity – approx. 1-2 liters per 10 sqm
High porosity – approx. 3-4 liters per 10 sqm
Polished surface - about 1 liter per 15-20 sqm
LTP Mattstone H20 will close the micropores and will maintain the original appearance. For daily aftercare, use a neutral cleaner, such as LTP Waxwash.
