Full waterproofing against water action. Weber.Tec Hydroprotect is a flexible cement-based bicomponent, modified with polymer emulsion.
for bathrooms, swimming pools, terraces, water basins.
Weber.Tec Hydroprotect Kit contains:
Sack: 20 kg
Drum: 10 kg
Consumption: 3-4.5 kg / m2, depending on layer thickness and the domain it is used for 2 mm thickness:
- Waterproofing surfaces subject to humidity: approx. 3-3.5 kg / m² for a thickness of 2.5 mm
- Waterproofing of surfaces subject to permanent water action: approx. 4-4.5 kg / m
Fields of use: Weber.Tec Hydroprotect is designed to seal mineral surfaces subject to humidity and permanent water action, for waterproofing under ceramic claddings in bathrooms, balconies, terraces, swimming pools and water basins. Layer support: cement-based plasters and screeds, concrete surfaces, old ceramic tiles.
Applicability limits: Do not apply to wood surfaces, particleboard (PAL, OSB), plywood, metal. It is not suitable against negative water pressure. It will not be left uncovered in areas that may be exposed to direct sunlight or subjected to mechanical impact.
Working mode: Flexible Weber.Tec Hydroprotect waterproofing is a bicomponent material: a powder component (Component A) and a fluid-pasty (Component B). Add the 20 kg powder component into 10 kg of fluid component, then mix them with an electric mixer (at a maximum speed of 800 rpm) for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous paste is obtained. The mixture is left to mature for 2 minutes, then is re-mixed before application. The paste thus obtained is applied with a brush, paint brush or rebate iron in minimum two coats and the thickness of each layer is not more than 2 mm. A Weber.Tec 828 DB 75 sealing tape is pre-loaded in a fresh coat of Weber Tec Hydroprotect in the joining areas between the wall and the floor, over the expansion joints and in the transition areas between different materials. The corner areas can be efficiently made using the Weber.Tec 828 DI inner corner and Weber.Tec 828 DA external corner . For sanitary connections we recommend the use of the Weber.Tec 828 MD adjustable sealing tape. To obtain a waterproofing layer, it is necessary to apply at least two layers (3 layers for surfaces exposed to water pressure). The application of each layer must be perpendicular to the previous layer. Wait at least 5 hours between layers application. The final thickness after drying of the waterproofing layer must be at least 2 mm in the case of surfaces subject to moisture and at least 2.5 mm in the case of surfaces subjected to permanent water action.
Application properties:
Applicable layers: 2-3 coats
Commissioning time: max. 3 hours
Time between layers: min. 5 hours
Waiting time until plating: min. 3 days
Time to fill the water tank: min. 7 days
Time to obtain mechanical strengths: 2 days
Time to become waterproof: 7 days
Drying time: 48 hours
Storage: in watertight sealed packaging, in a dry environment. The liquid component is free of frost and high temperatures. The works will be carried out at an air and substrate temperature of +5 C to +30 C and will avoid adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, strong wind, direct exposure to sunlight). In case of strong sun, application of waterproofing will be done in the shade. Isolated surfaces will be protected against rain and frost for at least 24 hours after application.
Do not dilute the material with water and mix it with other building materials. Areas outside the application area should be covered with adhesive tape and protective foil.
The used tools are washed with water immediately after use.
Terms of validity: 12 months from date of manufacture
