Greek Style bathroom design ideas
A bathroom decoration project is not simple: there is a long and difficult road from the concept until execution. This included the quality of materials a good and coherent communication with the contractors or the decisions you have to take, minor or more important, that need to be considered carefully. In our new series of articles, we will present the most beautiful projects of piatraonline.ro customers.
Mircea started his decoration project thinking about holiday: "While visiting Greece, I noticed the many houses decorated with natural stone, which were spectacular. So, I created a different ambience, because I wanted to avoid the use of ceramic tiles. Natural stone is a unique material and although it will alter its appearance in time, it becomes even more interesting, "says Mircea.
What materials were used for the bathroom decoration in Mircea's home?
The flooring is classic vein cut (honed) travertine, a tile designed for professional decorators, with a special feature that features a distinctive cut made along the tiles vines, highlighting the edge and a linear cut over the tile surface, emphasizing the travertine natural texture.
The wall was also cladded with travertine, this time a classical cross cut honed travertine conveying elegance into the space and in combination with the flooring, manages to create an interesting game of lines and shades.
For the mirror area, the creativity in combination (that inspired the Greek Mediterranean style to Mircea in the first place) was designed with classic travertine M7 moulding (on the exterior) having a profile specific to the ancient temples, complemented by a finer border from classic and Noce travertine (honed) for completing the ensemble with an old, fairy-tale touch. Then, on the inside, a Latte Travertine M1 moulding was used, the ideal solution for framing travertine tiles either on the inside or outside.

The next area, where the mirror was framed, continues the mix of Classic Travertine Cross Cut and Noce Travertine Cross Cut with a 10 x 10 cm (1 cm thick) tile layout, both travertine tiles with tumbled finish.
For this installation we recommend the Weber Set Marmo Plus professional adhesive and for sealing the surface, LTP Color Intensifier (a professional solution, suitable for wet spaces, where the stone can interact with shampoo, shower gel or other similar products).
Mediterranean style is defined by a harmony of soft, warm, white and beige tones, a range inspired by sea waves and the sand of sunny beaches. The Greek Mediterranean style involves the use of natural stone in combination with wood (a furniture usually darker). For Mircea, the reinterpretation of the concept started from the earthy, natural shades of the stone: "We have kept this latte hue, throughout the house. Starting with this, we selected the furniture and the doors, and for the living room we combined these natural tones with bamboo wood, because we loved its hue and felt satisfied with the outcome "says Mircea.
