Moroccan inspired Mediterranean Bathroom

We chose a Mediterranean bathroom designed by a USA-based interior design studio for a private project, which makes use of natural stone to reinterpret the Moroccan style.

How does Moroccan-inspired design look like?
Moroccan design is born at the intersection of different cultures: French, Portuguese, Spanish, but it is also influenced by Mediterranean, African and Islamic cultures. Moroccan homes are true oases of tranquility and coolness (hidden away from the almost unbearable heat) that use vibrant colors. The most popular shades are greens and blues. Spaces are full of playful patterns and furniture is reduced to a minimum. Pillows and curtains drape rooms while plants reinforce a sense of relaxation and natural ambiance.
In a Mediterranean bathroom, light plays a crucial role: it should be as subtle and as warm as possible. Moreover, in order to create a dynamic environment, mirrors and other shiny surfaces are used to reflect light. Because patterns are such an important detail in this type of design scheme, they can also be highlighted through accessories.

For the floor, you can install 47,7 X 45, 7 X 1,2 cm Classic travertine tiles (cross cut, filled and honed). The countertop can be customized out of filled and polished Noce travertine (2 centimeters thickness). A built-in Classic travertine sink will help you preserve the details of a natural finish, while for the mosaic that frames the bathtub you can use a Classic-Noce travertine mosaic.
