AREAS OF USE
It is used for fixing and reinforcing (glazing) the expanded polystyrene sheets and graphite expanded polystyrene. It is applied on all conventional surfaces, concrete, lightweight concrete, porous concrete, cement plasters, lime plasters, old plasters and directly on any masonry. It is recommended for thermal insulation of newly built and old buildings. It is part of the Webertherm classic expanded polystyrene, Webertherm mineral and is recommended for Webertherm home graphite expanded polystyrene system.
PREPARING THE UNDERLAY
The underlay must be clean, non-deformable, dry, steady and free of anti-adhering substances (grease, bitumen, dust etc.). Check the adhesion of existing plasters and paints. Surfaces with traces of antiadhesive substances, mold, mildew should be cleaned with a pressurized water jet and wire brush. The swollen, loose plasters must be removed. Repairs will be done with a cement mortar with 2 adhesive properties or simply with Weber P39 max2. Very absorbent surfaces should be watered and allow them to dry (water film disappears).
PREPARATION AND DIRECTION OF USE
Pour the contents of a bag into approx. 5.5 – 6 liters of clean, cold water and mix with an electric mixer until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, without agglomeration. Leave it like this for approx. 5 minutes, then mix again.
For fixing: the resulting adhesive mortar is applied on the polystyrene surface in 3-6 areas, so that when installing adhesive covers at least 40% of the surface. It is fixed by hand pressing, and flatness and verticality are adjusted with the spirit level. Tiles fixing begins at the bottom, from the socket profile; tiles are connected with masonry pattern. Use dowels for extra fixing, 1-3 days after installing tiles.
For reinforcing: The adhesive mortar is applied with jagged trowel (6x6 or 8x8 mm) in even layer over the tile surface. The reinforcing mesh (fiberglass) extends vertically and is embedded in the adhesive with a trowel. The net strips are installed by overlapping of at least 10 cm. Apply immediately the second layer of adhesive (approx. 1.5 mm thickness), leveling the surface so that the net is fully covered.
TIPS
Apply the adhesive when the air and underlay temperature is between + 5 °C to + 30 °C. When applying adhesive surface must be protected against direct sunlight and rainfalls. Thermal insulation system will be protected against frost or rainfall for 24 hours. For areas with high humidity and low temperatures, dowels will be used for fixing thermal insulation sheets only after checking if the adhesive is cured and the thermal insulation sheets are completely fixed. Fresh mortar will be removed from the cured surfaces and joints during application, using clean water. Check by installing 4 - 5 test dowels. The used tools are washed with water immediately after use.
COMPOSITION
Grey cement based powder adhesive with mineral additions and synthetic resins, applicable in thin and medium layer. With increased adhesion to underlay and expanded polystyrene sheets (EPS-F) or graphite polystyrene sheets.
