AREAS OF USE
It is used for reinforcing (glazing) the expanded polystyrene sheets, graphite expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene and basaltic mineral wool. It is recommended for thermal insulation of newly built and old buildings. It is part of the Weber.therm prestige, mineral wool thermal insulation system.
PREPARING THE UNDERLAY
The surface of polystyrene sheets or mineral wool must be clean, dry, free of dust and other impurities and with even edges. Bumps must be flat honed and wiped from dust before applying the dowels. If the polystyrene sheets have not been glazed, covered with adhesive for 2 weeks, their quality should be assessed. The yellowish, dusty sheets must be roughen and cleaned.
PREPARATION AND DIRECTION OF USE
Pour the contents of a bag into approx. 5.5 – 6 liters of clean, cold water and mix with an electric mixer until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, without agglomeration. Leave it like this for approx. 5 minutes, then mix again. The resulting adhesive mortar is applied with jagged trowel (6x6 or 8x8 mm) in even layer over the tile surface. The reinforcing mesh (fiberglass) extends vertically and is embedded in the adhesive with a trowel. The net strips are installed by overlapping of at least 10 cm. Apply immediately the second layer of adhesive (approx. 1.5 - 2 mm thickness), leveling the surface so that the net is fully covered. Mineral wool surfaces, prior to reinforcement, are "primed" with a thin adhesive layer to improve adhesion between mineral wool and adhesive.
Apply the adhesive when the air and underlay temperature is between + 5 °C to + 30 °C. When applying adhesive surface must be protected against direct sunlight and rainfalls. Thermal insulation system will be protected against frost or rainfall for 24 hours. Surface thermally insulated with graphite expanded polystyrene will be protected against sunlight until reinforcing (glazing) with adhesive. The used tools are washed with water immediately after use.
