Weber P50 is a cement-based adhesive which contains hydraulic binders and synthetic resins. It has a high adherence on the supporting layer. The flexible adhesive made for thermal insulation systems comes in a grey color.
Installing surface:
It can be applied on concrete, light concrete, porous concrete, groutings, lime-cement, old groutings and straight on any brickwork.
*It can also be applied on a wooden surface (OSB) only if the supporting layer has first been reinforced with Weber GR 100 – reinforcing primer.
Surface preparation:
The supporting surface must be clean, dry, nondeformable and fixed.
In the case of very porous surfaces, you must first wet them and wait until the water film disappears.
How to prepare and apply:
Pour the contents of a sack in 7 liters of water and manually or mechanically mix until you get an homogeneous paste. After obtaining the paste, let it sit for 5 minutes and then mix again for 30 seconds.
For gluing: The obtained mortar adhesive must be spread on the polystyrene’s area along the edges and in a few points (3-6) so that when pressed, the adhesive covered surface is larger than 40%. It must be installed by manually pressing it and the flatness and verticality must be adjusted using a spirit level tool and a jointing rule.
For reinforcing: The adhesive mortar must be spread in an even layer on the surface of the tile using a jagged trowel (6x6 or 8x8 mm). The reinforcing net (made out of glass fiber) must be vertically installed on the adhesive with the help of the trowel so that the net strips overlap for at least 10 cm. A second layer of paste must immediately be applied in a thickness of about 1 5 mm, troweling the surface so that the net is completely covered.
Recommendations:
Application temperature: minimum +5°C and maximum +30°C.
While applying, the surface must be protected against strong sunlight and rainfall. The used material and cladded surface must not be exposed to frost or rain for 24 hours since applying.
On cold weather with high levels of humidity the doweling of the glued thermo-isolating tiles must only be done after waiting a proper time (test doweling).
Usage characteristics:
Waiting time: 5 minutes since preparing the mix
Application time: 2-3 hours from preparing the paste.
These times are given for a temperature of 20 ° C and a relative humidity of 65%. Higher temperatures shorten these times while lower ones increase them. Contains cement. Makes an alkaline reaction when mixed with water. Protect the eyes and skin. In case of eye contact with eyes, washed with plenty of water and ask for the doctor’s advice.
Technical data:
Initial traction adherence: ≥1 N/mm2
Adherence after water immersion: ≥0 5 N/mm2
Slip: < 0 5 mm
Tensile strength in bending: ≥5 N/mm2
Tensile strength in compression: ≥ 15 N/mm2
Validity:
12 months from the date of manufacture if stored on wooden pallets in a dry environment.
Consumption:
Gluing: 4-6 kg/sqm
Reinforcing: 3-4 kg/sqm
