Marble Mosaic is used for wall cladding in living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, interior accents in residential or public projects.
Features
Ceppo Grey Marble was formed by cementing screes or crumbles that resulted from harder rocks. The frozen pebbles look embedded in the marble mass is due to the natural sediments that caused the formation in the first phase. Later, when subjected to extreme temperatures and pressures, these cemented screes were converted into marble. Marble includes mainly calcite, and a significant percentage of magnesia, hence the slightly glassy look. Because of its formation, Ceppo Grey Marble displays unique features:
- density: 2 900 kg/m³
- water absorption (normal conditions): 1.19 %
- mechanical strength (compression): 129 MPa
- mechanical strength (bending): 8.4 MPa
- freeze-thaw durability: excellent
- abrasion resistance: excellent
Marble is a stone similar to granite in terms of compressive strength and mechanical strength to bending. When it comes to water absorption, Ceppo Grey is a porous marble.
Available sizes
Ceppo Grey Marble Mosaic is available with the standard size: 30 x 30 x 1 cm. The size of marble pieces that compose the mosaic is 2.3 x 4.8 cm, just like Latte Polished Travertine Mosaic and Classic Splitface Travertine Mosaic.
Types of finishes
This mosaic features a mixed finish, with Ceppo Grey Marble and its 3 types of finish: polished, honed, sandblasted. Such a combination offers the benefit of an amazing appearance, hiding the fascinating shine of this marble among elements with a soft shine and others with a rough look.
How to install mesh-mounted mosaic
Mesh-mounted mosaics are made from stone pieces attached to a flexible mesh. The recommended stones are slate, marble, travertine, onyx, with many sizes available, besides shapes and colors. Installation of the mosaic is completed with adhesive, with or without joints. Recommended adhesives: Weber Set ST10, Weber Set H20, Weber Set Stone – Class C1 adhesives or Weber EX25 Max2, Weber Set Porcelain Max, Weber Marmo Plus – Class C2
Maintenance
Maintenance includes the 3 steps: cleaning, sealing, and maintenance. The recommended cleaners are alkaline (LTP Grimex and LTP Power Stripper) and for surface sealers, LTP Grout & Tile Protector or LTP Mattstone H2O.
