Crystallization for Natural Stone Floors: is a procedure for surface polishing. Initially it was available for marble and terrazzo and later it extended to other types of stone. The procedure regains the surface gloss and is recommended for prior polished and honed surfaces with abrasive agents (e.g. high-traffic areas) or corrosives (e.g. commercial detergents). For polishing use oxalic acid or fluorosilicates.
The full procedure includes:
• assessment of surface status, perhaps measuring the degree of polishing (the gloss level) with gloss meter
• washing the surface with special detergents for natural stone
• polishing with single disk washing machine equipped with the right pad
• optional – applying a protective wax coat against water and dust
