Choosing the installation team
Exterior
Outdoor installation has specific requirements
For installing cobblestone on a sand bed, the crew includes diggers and installers, while for installing cobblestone on a semi-dry screed, personnel are needed to prepare, apply, and level the screed, building the installation base first, before the stone installers come in. For adhesive installation, requirements are similar to those for indoor installation crews.
Depending on the specifics of the job, a separate crew is formed for installing polygonal stone outdoors. In certain cases, grouting may be needed after installation. Polygonal stone comes in varying shapes and thicknesses, so greater skill and installation experience are needed.
For installations on thermal insulation systems, knowledge of and preparation of the installation substrate are needed. Mesh is installed over the insulation elements (expanded, extruded, or graphite-enhanced polystyrene, mineral wool), and only then is the stone installed. Knowledge of different adhesive types is needed, some for the insulation elements and others for the stone.
Ventilated façades have their own specific installation technique.
At the end of installation work, natural stone surfaces need to be sealed.
