New trends for outdoor kitchen

Summertime is a time for moving parties outdoor. And if you have a garden or terrace, probably dinner in sunny days with family or friends is already a tradition. But, what are the latest trends in outdoor kitchen decoration?

Functional areas of outdoor kitchen
Similar to any indoor kitchen, outdoor kitchen includes many functional areas, for an outdoor cooking pleasant experience. A complete kitchen kit should include kitchen workbench, table with built in sink, cupboards for kitchenware, barbecue/oven (or even an oven with built in barbecue) and also a table with chairs, for serving dinner.

Durable materials
If you have an open terrace or garden and you want an outdoor kitchen, better choose durable materials, not influenced by freeze-thaw cycle or weather conditions. With natural stone you should not worry about anything, particularly when sealed and installed with right adhesive. Read more on recommended treatment for natural stone installed outdoor.

Even the storage space, drawers or cupboards can be cladded with natural stone. The SKIN flexible slate veneer is very thin and easy to handle and can be cut-to-size and glued onto these pieces of furniture. Natural materials with exclusive look are bestsellers: for example you can create a unique space with a cut-to-size kitchen countertop (from marble or travertine).

Covered outdoor kitchen
If kitchen is a space for spending more time, then on the long run it is better to install a durable roof over your head. If on the other hand, you are using outdoor kitchen rarely, then a couple of umbrellas for sun protection should be enough.

Outdoor kitchen and living room
The latest trends promote the area outside your house as an extension of your interior. Thus, more and more elements from inside can be also used outside: open air fireplace, couches and even an entertainment area, ideal for a TV set. Besides, architects and designers recommend using complementary materials. For example, if the interior flooring is from travertine with polished finish, use tiles with tumble finish and chiselled edges in exterior for a unitary look and consistent space.
