Marble is a non-foliable metamorphic rock, derived from sedimentary rocks subjected to enormous temperatures and pressures, which change their structure and properties. The composition of marble is based on limestone, hence its characteristics of strength and durability.

Marble Installation
Palisandro marble tiles are assembled using the classic "combing" technology
Here are the steps:
1. Clean the surface: use an industrial vacuum cleaner to remove debris. The surface must be clean, flat, dry, smooth and load-bearing.
2. After measuring the surface, calculate how many whole boards fit on the surface and how many will be cut off. It is recommended to make a scaled drawing of how the arrangement will look.
3. Make a sample (cold fitting): place a row (total or partial) of tiles on the surface and determine how to cut the edge tiles (those that do not fit). Number the boards on the back.
4. Check the finish and colouring, determine how to mount. If you want to make a model on the surface, it is recommended to place the boards according to the model, simulating the arrangement before mounting. The tiles will be positioned in the desired colour arrangement.
5. Check that the installation conditions are respected: dry tiles (protected from humidity for at least 24 hours before installation), installation temperature between 5 and 25 degrees (for both indoor and outdoor), normal humidity.
6. Choose and prepare the adhesive according to the manufacturer's instructions. Weberset Marmo Plus, Weberset Portelanat Max² or Weberset Superflex Max² are recommended.
7. Start the actual installation. Spread the adhesive continuously on the surface using a tooth trowel. Depending on the drying time of the adhesive, it will be applied on smaller surfaces so that it does not dry out before the board is mounted. Apply the adhesive to the backing surface and the board. For wet area cladding, a minimum adhesive coverage of 95% is required. In the case of large boards, bumps or deformations occur during production, these can be compensated for with the adhesive, deeper grooves should be made in the surface of the boards using a 10-20 mm toothed trowel. The application technology is by "combing" and not by "nipping", because it is necessary to ensure perfect adhesion. The adhesive is applied in a straight direction without making curves with the trowel. A line of small parallel grooves is obtained over which the board is placed. For rectangular boards, apply the adhesive so that the grooves are perpendicular to the width of the board. All these operations aim to increase adhesion.
8. Start the tiling in one corner to ensure alignment of the tiles. Place the board directly on the surface and press gently, possibly moving it slightly back and forth without rotating it. The surface should be flat. A rubber hammer can be used for fixing.
9. The assembly can be done with or without a joint, in which case expansion joints are provided (depending on the size of the surface).
The tiles are mounted as a whole, the spaces at the edge of the tiling surface remaining empty. After fitting, remove excess adhesive with a damp sponge. In the case of heated floors, the installation is done by hand. In interior tiling, joints of 1-2 mm are generally left.
10. Allow the tiled surface to dry for at least 12 hours or as long as indicated in the adhesive instructions without stepping on it.
11. After mounting the whole tiles there will be unplated areas either along the edges or for bypassing obstacles. In these places the boards should be cut to size. Measure the areas on which the boards are to be fitted and cut out the cut-outs on each board, taking care to leave the edge gaps. It is recommended to use a board-cutting machine equipped with suitable discs.
12. Cut out the traced boards, allow them to dry and then mount them in the same way as the others.
13. Allow the surface to dry naturally (about 24 hours) without stepping on it.
14. In the case of joints between boards, they are grouted.
15. After grouting, remove the excess and allow the surface to dry (24 hours).
16. Wash the surface with clean water
Maintenance
Quick and easy 3-step treatments are carried out after installation.
1. Cleaning - is carried out with LTP Grimex, LTP Power Stripper or other specialised cleaners. For stain removal specific solutions are used.
2. Waterproofing - protecting surfaces from dust, water, grease and some stains Mattstone, Colour Intensifier, Mattstone are recommended.
