The natural stone has a thermal resistance that promotes heat preservation, thus leading to an optimum temperature during food preparation – whether it is meat, pizza or a handful of fresh vegetables. Instructions for use:
Before the first use, wash thoroughly with water to remove any dirt assembled during transport. Leave it to dry one day. Place the stone in the oven and heat it up to 200 °C for half an hour. Do not place it in the pre-heated oven. Remove the stone with a cooking hand glove and grease it with olive oil on both sides. You can also use sunflower oil, just keep in mind that it produces more smoke. Place the stone in the oven at constant temperature for one more hour. All these operations are required for stone’s best hygiene. After first use, a simple water wash is enough. Only one side of the countertop is to be used.
Before cooking, the granite countertop is kept for 1-2 hours in the heated oven at 240-260 °C (turn on the cooker after you put the countertop in). You can also warm this up with a net on the flame stove or with charcoals, by the grill. Later, countertop is removed and can be transported to the area where dishes (meat, seafood or vegetables) are to be prepared.
Tips for natural stone aftercare:
The stone used for cooking should not be waterproofed.
Also, it should not be treated with any kind of substance, nor have a reinforcement net either.
