The Burgundy Brushed marble slab is a natural stone of rare aesthetic power and immediately recognisable aristocratic visual presence, quarried from the quarries of Turkey. It is distinguished by a deep and rich cherry-burgundy base, with variations towards dark-brown and anthracite-black, traversed by wide and dramatic pure white calcite veins with free and expressive diagonal trajectories, accompanied by fine silver-white secondary veins that streak the entire surface in all directions. Subtle areas of bluish-grey crystallisation appear here and there, adding depth and chromatic complexity to the dark base. Each slab is an absolute unique — the white veins never follow the same path, creating a different natural tableau every time, with its own visual power and personality.

The brushed finish gives the surface a velvety, slightly tactile texture that softens reflections and creates a more natural and organic appearance of the stone compared to the polished finish. The absence of excessive shine amplifies the regal and sober character of the burgundy-cherry base, creating a pleasant-to-the-touch surface with authentic visual depth and a warm, opulent and discreetly elegant appearance — ideal for interior spaces where a bold yet understated aesthetic is sought.

What is the Brushed finish?

The brushed finish is achieved by mechanically brushing the stone surface with steel or silicon abrasive brushes, which remove the superficial layer and create a slightly rough, velvety and matt texture with a natural-organic appearance of the stone. Unlike the polished finish, the brushed finish softens reflections and amplifies the tactile character and natural depth of the stone, approaching the organic aesthetics of stone in its natural state. It is less sensitive to fingerprints than the polished finish and requires mandatory preventive impregnation due to its slightly higher porosity.

Applications:

The deep cherry-burgundy base and dramatic white veins make Burgundy Brushed a material of dominant visual presence, ideal for applications where the stone becomes the central element of the design:

  • Feature walls and decorative accent panels — aristocratic and memorable visual presence
  • Full wall cladding in bathrooms, showers and entrance hallways
  • Kitchen and bathroom countertops — central contrasting element against lighter surfaces
  • Flooring in living rooms and representative hallways
  • Bedroom headboards and luxury furniture cladding
  • Reception areas, boutique hotels, spas and premium commercial spaces
  • Fireplaces — a focal element of rare chromatic warmth and opulence
  • Luxury interior staircases

The slab format allows the creation of the book-match effect — the symmetrical mirroring of two adjacent slabs — resulting in visual compositions of exceptional artistic power, with white veins symmetrically mirrored against the burgundy-cherry base, creating natural tableaux of rare opulence and aristocracy. The brushed finish gives these compositions an even more natural and organic appearance, approaching the aesthetics of the stone in its authentic state.

Design tip:

The cherry-burgundy base of Burgundy marble, punctuated by wide and expressive white veins, creates a material of dominant and opulent visual presence. It combines exceptionally with warm metals (matt gold, bronze, brass) that highlight the chromatic warmth of the burgundy base, with wood in walnut or mahogany shades and with textiles in black, ecru and golden tones. Due to its powerful visual character, it is recommended to use Burgundy as the singular and defining element of the design — the stone alone is sufficient to create a space of unparalleled natural aristocracy and opulence.

Maintenance and care:

The brushed finish requires mandatory preventive impregnation with a hydrophobic and oleophobic product specifically designed for natural stone, applied before installation and renewed periodically (every 1–2 years, depending on use). Cleaning is carried out with neutral detergents (pH 7) and water. Acidic or abrasive products should be avoided. Marble is sensitive to acids — lemon juice, vinegar and acidic cleaning products can cause etching on the surface. Stains must be removed promptly.

Professional tip:

For correct installation, use high-quality flexible adhesives compatible with dark-coloured natural stone — a grey or similarly coloured adhesive is recommended to avoid visually affecting any more translucent areas. Ensure a uniform bedding layer to prevent cracking. Consultation with a specialist before installation is recommended.

Panoramic, a reinvented symbol of contemporary Brașov

Panoramic reopens its doors in a form that preserves the building's modernist memory and translates it through light, transparency, materiality and a direct relationship with the landscape. The original building dates from the 1970s, and the contemporary intervention preserves the scale, proportions and structural logic of the modernist landmark.
