Bathroom design ideas with classic style and Venetian inspiration
A bathroom decoration project is not simple: there is a long, challenging way between concept and execution: the quality of materials, a coherent connection with the contractor team or the decisions, smaller or bigger, which must be considered thoroughly. In a new series of articles, we present you the most beautiful decoration projects of PIATRAONLINE customers.
Andreea Piti, PIATRAONLINE customer, created her own bathroom design. She wanted a classic style and created a bathroom design starting with the general house design: classic, simple, with accessories and elements that captivate the spaces: "I investigated a lot and observed different types of settings and the fact that I preferred natural stone lead me to this elegant area from the very beginning. Following the research, I had the opportunity to choose what I really loved, without exceeding my budget. I also worked with a PIATRAONLINE sales consultant and I visited the showroom many times", says Andreea.
In the guest bathroom, Andreea decided to clad only half of the walls with natural stone and on top of it applied a paint with patina of Venetian inspiration: "This bathroom is smaller, classical. I used a walnut-colored wood furniture and I clad only half of the wall. The decorative border was bought from PIATRAONLINE and above it is a decorative border used for separation" Andreea explained.

What materials have been used for this bathroom?
The floor and wall are clad with marble, the decorative border was made from Emperador and Burdur marble, to which a Light Beige marble M1 pencil moulding has been added.
For the children bathroom, Andreea selected a shower because it seemed more practical for her. How did she choose the materials? "We cladded the walls with a light color travertine, while using a darker color travertine for the flooring. Vertically, we have two mosaic pillars (I did not want to use a horizontal decorative border) on two of the bathroom walls in an area with a visual impact. The color is darker and matches the floor. "
What materials have been used in this bathroom?
The walls were cladded with Classic Cross Cut Polished Travertine, the floor was cladded with Latte Honed Travertine and the mosaic cladding the wall is Latte Travertine Polished Mosaic.
For another bathroom, Andreea selected some impressive combinations of elements: "At first I wanted to use a decorative border and then decided to have an entire mosaic wall behind the bathtub, which came out really nice." Moreover, Andreea had to search for a long time until finding a Romanian company (Art Mobilier) with the wooden furniture and the mirror frames having exactly the design style she was looking for, most of the pieces with curved lines, tumbled finish, small carved wooden elements and golden leaf inserts in a setting inspired by the Venetian style.
How to define the Venetian style?
Alongside Florence, Venice represented a major Renaissance movement, and in design, the Venetian carnival extravagance and the festive reputation of the city established some distinct principles: beside the presence of marble and natural stone, there are intricately decorated mirrors or glass ornaments (the famous Murano glass) considered typical elements of this design style. Other particular details of a Venetian inspired design: metallic shades (golden or silver) - in chandeliers or fine accents on furniture, extravagant drapes, oriental terrazzo flooring, porcelain figurines or oriental rugs.

For the matrimonial bathroom, Andreea made some creative decisions: "I chose one of the decorative borders from in the showroom and used it twice: it resulted a wider line, a little higher than the sink, which looks very good"
How did Andreea and her husband get to choose natural stone?
"The stone was good – premium quality and durable- with an excellent price-quality ratio. The ceramic tiles, you know how it is, next you realize there are out of fashion or you do not like the model anymore... We were pleased with what we found here, on piatraonline.ro. Therefore, our home (including bathrooms) is admired by the friends who visit us " Andreea told us.
