Think of how a carpenter works wood, how a blacksmith handles iron — in the same way, our stonemasons finish stone, so that we can obtain for you and your project special pieces, exactly as you desire. Whether it’s kitchen countertops, window sills or staircases, our clients use 2 cm polished Volakas marble. Special pieces in the superb Volakas marble (countertops, steps, window sills) are made to standard or custom dimensions, according to your needs. Produced in our own manufacturing facility using modern technology (waterjet or CNC cutting), special pieces combine the elegant appearance of Volakas marble with the precision required for such products.

White marble window sills | Interior and exterior window sills
Exterior marble window sills are installed with a 5% slope to ensure rainwater drainage, plus a drip edge (1L). These sills are processed/cut according to your project, with the option of various edge profiles — (edge profiles: half-bullnose, bevel) drip edge, etc.

What you need to know about installing white marble window sills on the exterior or interior. Installation of white marble window sills is carried out:
• by bonding to masonry using appropriate adhesives
• by embedding in the wall, following these steps:

1. Place the marble sill in position
2. Embed into the wall
3. Protect the junction between wall and sill with adhesive tape
4. Apply a layer of sealant at the joint between sill and wall
5. Spread along the joint
6. Remove the tape
7. Clean off excess sealant

• by attaching to the window frame in the locations specified by the manufacturer
• by fixing with rods inserted into holes drilled in the edge of the sill and secured in the wall
• on brackets mounted in the wall

NOTE: For window sills/sills with atypical dimensions, templates are required. These are sent to us by courier or in person for calculation purposes.

Marble steps / staircases — exterior and interior | Steps and risers
What could be more durable than a staircase/step in natural stone/marble that lasts a lifetime? Step up and down your interior or exterior stairs and enjoy their perfect appearance and functionality! The elegance of the risers, made to your preferences, also requires the practicality of anti-slip strips processed on the step surface, especially for exterior steps.

What you need to know about installing exterior/interior steps/staircases:
1. Check the support ramps/staircase on which the steps are to be installed, measure and correct any flatness errors and dimensional differences (from screed — re-screeding)
2. Prepare the substrate — it must be clean, smooth, flat and load-bearing
3. Check the flatness of the step — it should have the same thickness across the entire surface so that the step is straight.
Any minor errors can be corrected with the adhesive layer or screed.
Check flatness with a spirit level
4. If edge processing (bevel, half-bullnose, etc.) was not initially planned, this can be carried out on-site using an angle grinder (Flex) fitted with abrasive discs
5. Measure and mark the position of the stone step on the substrate
6. Apply elastic adhesive to both substrate and slab (e.g. Weber MarmoPlus)
7. Place the slab on the support step and bond it
8. Continuously check flatness with a spirit level
9. The riser is installed in the same way. If the step is longer and exceeds the length and width of the support, the stone step is installed first, then the riser. If this is not the case and the two meet at a right angle, the riser may be installed first.

NOTE: For steps/risers with atypical dimensions, 1:1 scale cardboard templates based on the concrete (brick) staircase are required. The steps and risers will be produced based on these templates.

Custom Kitchen and Bathroom Marble Countertops | Natural stone kitchen countertops
For kitchen or bathroom countertops we recommend a thickness of 3 cm, though 2 cm can also be used without any issues. For a unique countertop surface in your kitchen or bathroom, choose polished Volakas marble. Its low water absorption and resistance to mechanical shocks make the countertop practical and functional. Its uniqueness and appearance recommend it for prestigious interiors worth showing off. In our production facility we manufacture custom / tailor-made countertops by cutting directly from slabs, based on precise measurements and after verifying the installation site (walls must meet at right angles).

Edge processing (half-bullnose, bullnose, bevel, polishing, bonding), sink cutouts, drip edges and core drilling are carried out on-site.

What you need to know about installation:
1. Preliminary measurements and checks are carried out by the installation team
2. The supporting furniture (cabinets, brackets) is installed and secured
3. The flatness of the substrate surface is checked with a spirit level
4. The edge type is selected (if processed on-site)
For additional processing: this can also be carried out on-site using an angle grinder with an abrasive disc, finished with sandpaper of various grits
5. Sink cutouts (and any socket cutouts) are made using a circular saw with a diamond disc and a core drill (for a tap hole in the countertop), then finished
6. Flatness and alignment are checked
7. The countertop is placed on the furniture
8. Silicone is applied between the countertop and wall (upstand) and between the countertop and furniture
9. The sink and tap are installed

NOTE: In most cases, a natural stone kitchen countertop is complemented by an upstand also in natural stone. The purpose of the upstand is to protect the wall from splashes during food preparation, which is why it is important that the material chosen is resistant and easy to clean. Beyond these practical aspects, the upstand should complement the surrounding wall cladding and the overall design line. For the polished Volakas marble countertop, the natural pairing is with tiles of the same material.

SPECIAL PIECES WITH A LONG LIFE
Find out now how to maintain your kitchen or bathroom countertop, exterior or interior stair steps — regardless of the type of special pieces ordered, they must be protected from aggressive environmental factors as well as household accidents that may affect their appearance and texture.

Simple and quick treatments in 3 steps, carried out after installation:
1. Cleaning — carried out with LTP Grimex or LTP Power Stripper. For removing specific stains, targeted solutions (detergents) are used
2. Sealing — protection of surfaces against dust, water, grease and certain stains varies depending on the installation location. LTP MPG is recommended for interior installations and LTP Mattstone H2O for exterior installations. For superior countertop protection, a silver ion antibacterial kit is recommended
3. Maintenance — use neutral detergents LTP Waxwash and LTP Stonewash

For surface restoration treatments (e.g. corrosive stains, stains of various origins), the purchase of new natural stone restoration kits is recommended. Special countertop protection is achieved with:
• Silver Ion Antibacterial Kit
• Safe Marble

  • Thickness 2 cm
  • Colour White
  • Thickness unit cm
  • Colour variation Medium
  • Finish Polished
  • Product selection Standard
  • Material Marble
  • Country of origin Bulgaria

Panoramic, a reinvented symbol of contemporary Brașov

Panoramic reopens its doors in a form that preserves the building's modernist memory and translates it through light, transparency, materiality and a direct relationship with the landscape. The original building dates from the 1970s, and the contemporary intervention preserves the scale, proportions and structural logic of the modernist landmark.
