About the project

Reconfiguring a medical space between rigour, comfort and modernity

Completed in 2025, DentPost turns a dental practice in Bucharest into a space where medical precision and emotional comfort support one another. The intervention by Alalong Studio removes the rigid clinical image through calm proportions, controlled light and tactile materiality.

Across 90 sq m, the reception becomes the project’s first gesture of trust. Black Forest Rock Design granite builds a sculptural backdrop, while the remaining fragments are recomposed into an artwork with a terrazzo-like expression, turning reclaimed material into an element of modernity.

The intervention was completed in 2025, and the first phase of the project, located on the ground floor, was developed by Alalong Studio for Dent POST Clinic.

DentPost welcomes its patients in a formula that preserves the rigour of a medical space and translates it through light, proportion, tactility and an atmosphere built around a sense of safety. In place of an impersonal clinical expression, the intervention proposes natural surfaces, calm tones and precise details that ease the tension associated with a visit to the dentist.

KEY FACTS
  • Area: 90 sq m
  • Level: Ground floor
  • Stage: Phase 1
  • Completion: 2025

In the reception, Black Forest Rock Design granite anchors the space, while the reclaimed fragments become an artwork with a terrazzo-like expression, turning material into a gesture of identity.

Architecture as the infrastructure of trust

The DentPost project works as a system in which identity, medical function and patient comfort are inseparable. The reception becomes a threshold between the rhythm of the city and the time of the clinic, while light, proportion and tactile surfaces build a gradual experience capable of replacing the feeling of an institution with one of calm and trust.

The execution meant careful coordination between architecture, building services, furniture and natural stone. Black Forest granite is used both as a statement surface and as reclaimed material, with the fragments resulting from cutting recomposed into an artistic object with a sustainable logic.

DentPost proves that a medical space can inspire trust without being cold, and can convey precision without giving up emotion. Traian Iacob and the Alalong Studio team have built an atmosphere in which natural materials, light and proportion completely change the patient’s relationship with the space.

The Black Forest granite becomes a sculptural gesture, and the remaining fragments are recomposed into a new work, turning material recovery into an act of design. It is a project about responsibility, refinement and the courage to rethink even the most functional of spaces.
