Slate is a very popular material, not only for durability, but also for its natural beauty that lies in vibrating and unpredictable shades. Its colors range from light blue, shades of gray and yellow, to sallow tones – an infinite variation that leads to the diversity of patterns and shapes of the tiles.
The Multi-Stripes slate panel, with 15 x 60 cm size, is defined by an eclectic color variation and a sophisticated finish. You can add a touch of style in any area by using this pattern of panels. Natural stone features are highlighted by a raw finish and the texture of slate. This type of slate can only be used for cladding, both interior and exterior projects. Inside the house, the panels can be installed on living room wall, or bedroom/kitchen/bathroom (wet spaces) wall or for cladding the fireplace. For the exterior of your house you can use it for fences, home bases or facades. Withstands fine the temperature variations and is very easy to maintain, both interior and exterior.
What you need to know about installation:
Installation is as important as choosing the best suited stone for your project.
For installing the tiles, we recommend Weber Set Marmo Plus, a flexible fast setting adhesive, also suitable for exterior.
We recommend GR 100 primer to be applied over the underlay for obtaining surfaces with higher adherence.
Cover the surface 100% with adhesive, for an ideal setting
The underlay could be: concrete/thermosystem/drywall
Installations site up to 3 m can be cladd directly over the thermosystem, above this height we recommend welded wire mesh and over the drywall it is mandatory to use post-rabitz
Weber Color Comfort grouting joints will be applied after fixing the tiles for highlighting natural stone, with more than 30 color shades to choose from.
For a correct installation, we recommend contracting a specialist.
Tips for natural stone aftercare
Slate is one of the most durable stones, yet for an extended lifetime you should keep in mind 3 procedures: cleaning, sealing and aftercare.
Clean the surface before sealing with LTP Grimex, available in our range of solutions (approx. 1L = 40 – 50 sqm)
Seal the surface with LTP Mattstone, recommended for both interior and exterior. This procedure is essential for daily protection of natural stone against water drops, dust and stubborn stains. As a result, the pores of the surface will seal, creating a barrier against external agents that could damage the stone.
Enhance and highlight the color of travertine, without the “just washed” effect with LTP Color Intensifier.
For daily cleaning and aftercare, we recommend LTP Waxwash, a cleaner that will not influence the sealed surface (1L = 700 sqm).
