Slate is a very popular material, not only for durability, but also for its natural beauty that lies in vibrating and unpredictable shades. Its colors range from light blue, shades of gray and yellow, to sallow tones – an infinite variation that leads to the diversity of patterns and shapes of the tiles.
Silver Brushed Slate is the ideal material for modern, elegant spaces, highlighted by the natural beauty conveyed by this stone. As a metamorphic rock, each tile is unique and expresses a different story, therefore the setting will be defined by many shades balanced harmoniously in a whole.
Silver Brushed Slate has multiple uses - its slip-resistant properties makes it ideal for flooring, yet aesthetics recommends it for cladding. Regardless of your choice, Silver Brushed Slate will boost the ambience of your personal space, creating a relaxation area in bathroom, kitchen or living room of your home, up to the covered or uncovered terrace. It is also very durable and easy to maintain and can be used in HORECA areas, hotels or offices.
What you need to know about installation:
Installation is as important as choosing the best suited stone for your project.
After unpacking, the tiles must be washed and dried.
Measure the area and determine exactly where the tiles needs chiseling at the edges.
For installing the tiles, we recommend Weber Set Porcelain Max2, a flexible fast setting adhesive, also suitable for exterior and projects with underfloor heating.
We recommend GR 100 primer to be applied over the underlay for obtaining surfaces with higher adherence, mainly for cladding on OSB/drywall/cement board reinforced with wood chips.
Weber Color Comfort grouting joints will be applied after fixing the tiles for highlighting natural stone, with more than 30 color shades to choose from.
For a correct installation, we recommend contracting a specialist.
Tips for natural stone aftercare
Slate is one of the most durable stones, yet for an extended lifetime you should keep in mind 3 procedures: cleaning, sealing and aftercare.
Clean the surface before sealing with LTP Grimex, available in our range of solutions (approx. 1L = 40 – 50 sqm)
Seal the surface with LTP Mattstone, recommended for both interior and exterior. This procedure is essential for daily protection of natural stone against water drops, dust and stubborn stains. As a result, the pores of the surface will seal, creating a barrier against external agents that could damage the stone.
Enhance and highlight the color of travertine, without the "just washed" effect with LTP Color Intensifier
For daily cleaning and aftercare, we recommend LTP Waxwash, a cleaner that will not influence the sealed surface (1L = 700 sqm)
For stubborn stains, we recommend LTP Power Stripper and for rust stains LTP Grout Stain Remover (1L = 30 – 40 sqm).
