BOB Coffee Promenada Mall: good coffee, passionate people and a marble that became part of the story

Published: General // Published 16.03.2026

A place that becomes part of the city

There are places in a city that quietly become part of your life before you even realise it. You discover them on a hurried morning, return on a calm afternoon and, at some point, you notice they have become part of your routine. For many of us, BOB Coffee is one of those places.

BOB Coffee was among the first specialty coffee shops that changed the way we look at coffee in Bucharest. Not only through the careful selection of beans or the way each cup is prepared, but through the atmosphere they have built around it. Their spaces have always been simple, warm and sincere — places where people come for good coffee, but stay for the energy of the place. That is precisely why the invitation to become their natural stone partner for the new BOB Coffee location at Promenada Mall was one of those collaborations you accept without much hesitation. Some projects are simply about materials and execution. Others are about people, shared values and the pleasure of building something together.

A project built as a team

The project took shape in collaboration with Plusminus Arhitectura, architect Șerban Roșca, the Mobiromantik team and the direct beneficiaries. We truly appreciate projects where each contributor brings their expertise to the table: the architect with the vision of the space, the furniture makers with proportion and object detail, and us with the material and the way it can become part of the identity of the place. When these elements come together naturally, the result is not just a well-designed interior but a space that genuinely works. In this project, collaboration happened exactly in that spirit: every decision came through dialogue and a shared intention to create a space that feels authentic.

The marble that speaks the language of coffee

For this project, the chosen material was Calacatta Borghini marble, and the way it sits within the space almost feels inspired by the world of coffee itself. Its luminous, gently warm background recalls perfectly textured milk in a cappuccino, while the golden veins flow across the surface like waves of latte art.

The polished finish reflects light in a nearly liquid way, much like the surface of a freshly poured latte. Around it, the palette of the interior gathers naturally: caramel tones, milk chocolate shades and warm hues that belong to the world of coffee. The marble does not dominate the space; instead, it complements it, bringing that balance between energy and calm that you feel inside a good coffee shop. In a café, the counter is never just a surface. It is the stage where the daily ritual of coffee takes place: where milk turns into latte art and where people pause for a few minutes in the middle of their day. For this reason, the countertops were custom-made in the PIATRAONLINE WORKSHOP, each slab carefully selected and cut so that the natural pattern of the marble remains coherent and becomes part of the identity of the space.

The details that make the difference

The project also includes a series of natural stone tables integrated into bespoke furniture pieces created specifically for this location. Their dimensions and proportions were developed together with the architecture team and Mobiromantik, ensuring the space remains open, fluid and welcoming. In café design, these details matter more than they might appear at first glance. They influence how people move through the space, where they pause, how they sit and how natural the entire experience feels. When these elements are carefully considered, a space becomes somewhere people return to without quite knowing why. It simply works.

A collaboration that started long before the project

There is also a small personal detail behind this story. Our relationship with BOB Coffee did not begin with this project. We have been drinking coffee at BOB for years, from their first locations in the city to the one at the airport, where we almost ritually stop before every flight. Perhaps that is why this collaboration felt particularly special. When you work with people whose product you already admire, things naturally become simpler and more genuine.

Thank you

We are happy to have contributed, with our material and the work of our atelier, to a space that will surely become part of many people’s daily routines in the city.

Thank you BOB Coffee, Plusminus Arhitectura, Șerban Roșca and Mobiromantik for the trust and for this collaboration.

For us, things remain simple: shall we meet for coffee?
