Travertine is undisputedly one of the most used natural materials for residential decoration projects in Romania, both for interior and exterior. Besides being a unique material with its undefined pattern or its porous structure, travertine has also a wide range of shades available. Moreover, travertine is a natural stone that reinvents itself to be able to adapt to the new design and architectural concepts, totally integrating with any design style approached.

Red Opium Travertine is one of those daring materials, amazing due to abundant shades of light brown and cream Red Opium – a combination that will decorate any space. Red Opium Splitface Travertine with 5 cm width and free lengths, and 2 cm thickness, is an ideal material for natural and simple, interior and exterior decoration projects. This material is highlighted by a raw beauty obtained by splitface – the cutting process of stone tiles by striking their edges with a hammer device.

This type of travertine can be used for interior and exterior claddings – from the walls of a beautiful kitchen, the living room and even the fireplace. For exteriors we recommend using the tiles for cladding the façade, fence or the home base.

Tips for installation:

This is as important as choosing the stone best suited to your decoration project

We recommend using the Weber Set Marmo Plus adhesive for fixing the tiles, a fast setting solution suitable also for the exterior;

For exterior cladding we recommend Weber GR100 primer, together with the adhesive, this way the assembly will be much stronger

The surface must be 100 % covered with adhesive for a very good fixing

The underlay could be: concrete / thermos system / drywall

For projects up to 3 m high, install the product directly over thermos system

For projects over 3 m high, it is compulsory to use welded wire mesh and several dowels for fixing the thermos system

If you want to install over the drywall, it is compulsory to use post rabitz

Weber Color Comfort grout joints will be applied after tiles installation for highlighting the natural stone; you have 30 shades to choose from

For a correct installation we recommend hiring an expert in natural stone installation

Tips for natural stone aftercare

Travertine is a hard and durable stone, yet for an extended lifetime you should keep in mind 3 steps: cleaning, sealing and aftercare

Even when installed on the exterior, the travertine has to be cleaned after installation and before being sealed with LTP Grimex

We recommend sealing the surface with LTP Mattstone; for enhancing the color of natural stone without having a “just washed look” use LTP Colour Intensifier

This procedure seals the micro pores, preventing the penetration of water into the fabric, so the stone will not stain so easily

For cleaning and aftercare following the installation you can use LTP Waxwash cleaner that will not influence the sealed surface

For difficult stains, use LTP Power Stripper and for dust stains used LTP Grout Stain Remover
