Site logistics

Transporting natural stone on site (tiles of various sizes, slabs, cobblestone, mosaics, panels, special pieces) is done using mechanical equipment.

Unloading and storage are labor-intensive operations, since handling stone is difficult. Once the storage area is set up, unloading is done by hand, with a pallet jack, or with a crane, depending on the type of stone and the weight of the package.

After storage, the following steps are carried out:

  • bringing tiles to the installation location, transported by hand or using gripping and securing systems needed to protect the stone

  • choosing and numbering tiles

  • doing a dry layout

  • preparing specific tools and equipment

  • any demolition or stripping work as part of renovation

  • preparing the substrate (pouring screed, applying waterproofing, plastering, outdoor excavation)

  • preparing adhesives and grout

  • installing tiles or special pieces (installation and grouting)

  • applying treatments
